Depending on how much time you have, I would get it replaced, but if you have to leave relatively soon, then I wish you luck. Sometimes it depends on the person who checks your passport and what mood they're in. You may not have any problems. Maybe the damage isn't that bad, and like you said, everything is readable. You cannot and must not attempt to travel on a mutilated passport. The European authorities might not care that much, but the US authorities are liable to lock you up and put you through all kinds of unpleasantness. Best advise: RENEW YOUR PASSPORT!!!
