If you have time to get it replaced then play safe and get it replaced. They are very very strict on these sort of things nowadays and i dont think you are going to have much luck with this one. As for an alternative option , there isn't one . no passport no travel , its the same the world over . sorry

You may be fine, but you may not want to risk it. Depending on how much time you have, I would get it replaced, but if you have to leave relatively soon, then I wish you luck. Sometimes it depends on the person who checks your passport and what mood they're in. You may not have any problems. Maybe the damage isn't that bad, and like you said, everything is readable. I hope u get through!

The passport is considered mutilated. You cannot and must not attempt to travel on a mutilated passport. The European authorities might not care that much, but the US authorities are liable to lock you up and put you through all kinds of unpleasantness.

Best advise: RENEW YOUR PASSPORT!!!

It may be fine but I'd get it replaced. You don't want to end up trapped behind some border and unable to get home.
