My daughter would like a nature perserve. She may need someplace close to disco, but I don’t. I don’t even need television! I would like some place to shop, but not to much of a tourist trap. I do speak enough Spanish to get by. Any help would be helpful!

Guanacaste

Tortuga Island,
Sarapiquí Canopy,
Volcán Arenal,
Tabacón Hotsprings,
and La Paz Waterfalls.

Note Me too..!I forge for tv by awhile for one week
que tengas buen viaje

I really recommend Playa Samara…I’ve been there and its absolutely gorgeous.!

“Samara has a superb coral reef and its own picturesque wooded island in the bay – Isla Chora. It’s well loved with swimmers and windsurfers, and it’s an ideal beach for your kids. Samara is not only a charming beach resort, with a wide choice of friendly and attractive hotels, restaurants, bars and discos, but, unlike other Pacific Ocean resorts, it is also a thriving fishing and farming community.”

I must warn you though..”cabinas” are basically cheap hotel rooms..they are not the nicest of places!

I would say go to Santa Teresa beach, gorgeous beach, not too crowded, brilliant restaurants, fantastic night life too, the best sunset in costa rica, people are nice and always smiling…

Hi,

Usually nature preserves by definition are not near discos or shopping centers. You may want to either:

1. split your time between a beach town with shopping and nightlife and a more tranquil setting off the beaten path.

2. Consider Manuel Antonio with its well loved national park, tourist attractions, shopping and nightlife

For beach town, consider Malpais/Montezuma or even Dominical (depending on time of year)

For a more eco-minded visit you may want to check out Lost Iguana Resort near Arenal Volcano, Villa Blanca Resort, El Silencio Lodge or Aguila de Osa Inn.

Excellent luck,

Carlos
