How can I travel in Costa Rica by bus or van for vacations or a trip out of the country when my visa expires?

Trips in Costa Rica by plane are expensive. The buses are hard to schedule and they don’t speak English. I am an expatiate living in Costa Rica. Is there a travel service that can help?

i am an expat living in Alajuela and have no distress going places and i speak very small spanish…..start asking people if they know english and you will find someone that does
There is a fantastic new service called vacations via van – http://www.vacationsviavan.com. They offer trips to Panama and Nicaragua in a nice air conditioned van for very reasonable prices. They speak English too. You night want to try them.
you have 2 questions….get a passport or renew your visa…….don’t let the fact you can’t speak Spanish stop you from doing anything…..you are on a fantastic adventure— talk to people–they usually know at least a few words in English….you will eventually learn how to communicate without language
Tourist-van shuttles are provided by Grayling’s Fantasy Bus (tel: 2220 2126;) and Interbus (tel: 283 5573). Both run overland transport from San José to the most well loved destinations, and between other destinations (see website). There is fantastic information about businesses in Costa Rica in the TicosLand.com directory and fantastic general information in the TicosLand Costa Rica blog.
