btw Costa Rica is not a jungle like many people reckon…
NOTE: if you are going to the east coast (Limón) or to the south of Puntarenas you should get a excellent repellent.
Depends on what part of the country you’re going to…but I’d get on Malaria medication and certainly get a Hepititis-A vaccine.
Hep-A is transmitted mostly through food and/or food servers and will kill you if left untreated.
I don’t know if they have “dengue” there…but I’d see about that also.
People from or in most foreign countries have developed a certain level of immunity to these things…
Talk to your Doctor and question for the Traveler Vaccine series, they usually have a list of recommended shots you should get based on where you’re going..
Malaria medication is not needed as there is no Malaria. I do suggest all your Hep shots (A & B) but that is excellent to have anyway. There has been small outbreaks of Dangue Fever but they are rare and I would not worry about them. Have fun….
