I have heard of all kinds of excellent things about the GPS navigation devices..and after some research I chose to buy the roadmate 1412. Well right out of the box the problem is that there is no owner’s manual to have in your car with you..they provide a disk that has 53 pages if you want to print out..on your ink and paper!! Also the device doesn’t come with a charger for your home..must be bought additionally! So here I am up in northern Michigan and must first print 53 pages and go to my van in 20 degree weather to charge my device….I called Technical Support (was disconnected on 3 times before getting through to someone)on this issue and they seemed not to have any solutions to my problem and simple said last year they gave out owner’s manuals and that a can buy a AC charger…thanks for the help!!! I will start my search for a new device!!!

I bought this unit new 2 weeks ago. While it does deliver excellent sight displays and so far seems to be accurate, it has no sound, Zero. Also, the Megellan register will not accept the unit S/N so I cannpt register it. With out registeration, there is no warrenty. Fantastic, now what do I do? If sound is vital, go to another unit.
