How to make make-shift luggage tags from ordinary household items?
Bus full of high school students leaves tomorrow morning. My high school student just let me know that her luggage needs to be marked in a semi-permanent kind of way. We don’t have any luggage tags.
What would you do?

I made mine on the COMPUTER.
make them out of white cardboard or just get them at the airport. The airline supplies as many as you need for free.

I used to work for an airline lost luggage department, the largest help in reuniting passengers and their baggage is
1. place either a sticky mark with your name and address both on the outside AND the inside of a suitcase, write it on with a marker if possible try to include your flight itinary and the hotel or resort you are at
2. marks are excellent, but can sometimes come off so place on a couple and as i said earlier a sticky mark as well.
3. always keep the 6 digit baggage tag receipt safe all airlines in the world use a 6 digit bag tag system usually prefixed with 2 letters to identify the airline.
4. do not pack essential medicine in your baggage and if returning from your holiday place the camera flim or memory card in a seperate bag
Go to a fabric shop and buy Lot’s of different ribbon’s, ribbon is very cheep, or use Christmas tinsel everyone has that at home?
Our wool get the students to make plait’s and everyone will delight in working together and this will get them to bond before you even start the jounery.

Simple peasy! Cut out a luggage tag size piece of card from an ancient birthday or christmas card, with a picture you like on. Write your name and address on the blank side. Cover with sticky back plastic if you have some, or sticky tape if not, cut a small hole for the string with a hole punch, thread some string or ribbon through, and there you have it! A cool, crafty luggage tag.
Use a mark got from a plant from a garden centre. They are plastic and very tough. Use a permanent marker which won’t wash or rub off.
I use a piece of card and a colourful ribbon – from the ribbon she should be able to see that it’s hers honestly quickly & easily. Also a sticky mark is a excellent thought.

Beg, borrow or buy a white belt with a buckle and thread it through the suitcase handle and then through the buckle. Beg, borrow or buy some superglue and with the belt threaded through the buckle superglue the buckle and belt together to prevent it coming apart.
Nest beg, borrow or buy an indelible permanent marker pen and write your house/flat number on both sides of the belt.
Then write your postcode after the house/flat number followed by the country abbreviation e.g. U.K.
Voila !!! A home mage bag tag made in minutes.
