Whenever we go the airport my mom insists on bringing tons of luggage.the worst part is that we don’t have enough cases to place them in so she puts them in uhaul boxes and brings the boxes to the airport. so we have like 4 uhaul boxes full of stuff, most of it, acutally all of it is useless. so how do i convince her, and do you reckon its embarrassing.

I would question this same question in the Air Travel section. It’s a larger category and you might get more answers (thus convincing your mom).

It seems like a lot of it is clothes. Just bring enough clothes for 7 days and wash.

Convince her that paying baggage fees is terrible.

Is she aware that airlines are charging quite a bit extra for luggage these days? And is she aware that boxes and crates are no longer accepted by many airlines as substitutes for proper suitcases?

MONEY. It costs money to check bags and even more if their over 50lbs each. If you’re going on an international flight… you might get a few more free but you’re still going to end up paying way more than you need too. Just tell your mom how you’re feeling and then maybe you can sit down with her and go through all the bags together and really chose what you need and what you don’t. You really only need the necessities if you are going on vacation (I’m assuming you are). Just tell your mmom that you want to focus on having fun and enjoying yourself and not so much on all the luggage.

I hope you work it all out!!

The solution is what one comedian says is “letter carrier”. If she wants to have that much luggage, “letter carrier” own darn stuff.
