I’m traveling to Mexico pretty soon and I’m traveling with Continental Airlines. I heard airlines are charging now for extra luggage I wanted to know how much they’re charging and how much it can weigh.

Check Continental’s web page for charges and if they take or do nor take cash. Most airlines do not allow more than 2 check bags (even with charging for them). One carry-on & one personal item (like a purse) is standard. Weight is 50 lbs per bag.

I was looking at Continental’s website and it looks like if you bought your tickets after May 8, 2008, your first checked bag is free and a 2nd bag is $25. But be VERY careful not to go over the the max of 50 lbs for each checked bag or it will be outragous. Here is the link I went to so that you can verify what I said.
